Unity Consciousness
What
is unity consciousness?
My
many meditations on this question provided this response: unity
consciousness is the certain knowledge that each soul is forever
directly connected to Creator and to all other souls. Unity
consciousness joins a soul at the cellular level with the planet and
that planet’s multiple kingdoms (mineral, soil, plant, devic and
animal). Those connections foster the constant awareness that all
souls and planetary kingdoms are of equal importance and of vital
value in contributing to the higher evolution of everyone. Unity
consciousness is the fertile field from which the unified “Divine
Mind” of the many outweighs any one mind so that aware choices can
serve the highest good of all concerned. Unity consciousness is,
therefore, true wholeness.
In
pondering the idea of unity consciousness over the years, I’ve
encountered resistance as well as insights along the way. The biggest
resistance has been the belief that unity consciousness would forever
erase individuality. An insight is that, as humans grow and transform
into expanded awareness, unity consciousness becomes vitally important
in order for us to connect purely with others.
Human
Behavior as a Catalyst
A pure
connection with others is something that many people earnestly desire,
and yet achieving and maintaining it is often very challenging. For
example, as I’ve led workshops, retreats and sacred journeys over the
years, I’ve had many opportunities to interact with a wide range of
human behaviors. At times I’ve made choices about how I
was responding, and at other times I’ve found myself reacting
in the presence of those behaviors. My judgment of my reactions – and
of myself for having them-- was quite harsh, and my labeling of those
reactions as either good or bad, or right or wrong, created intense
conflict for me. Fortunately, my steadfast spiritual guidance was
gentle yet honest with me as to the cause of my conflict. The message
was crystal clear: "It is not your task to judge or label yourself or
others. It is your task to make choices moment by moment and learn
more about yourself from those choices - nothing more, nothing less."
The
Core Essence of a Human Being is Unconditional Love and Compassion
Since
human behaviors are an inevitable part of our life experience, how do
we attain and maintain a state of unconditional love and compassion at
all times? How do we choose unity consciousness and yet retain our own
individuality?
One
answer is to remember that, at their core essence, each human being
is pure unconditional love and compassion. As that
remembrance becomes part of our daily awareness, we begin to be truly
authentic in our interactions with others; our core essence
strengthens and our ability to respect ourselves and each other
increases. Unity consciousness can then occur naturally, organically
as we drop the behaviors and judgments that have consistently
separated us from one another and created polarity consciousness.
Free
at Last!
Freedom from judgment and labels empowers each of us to be a witness,
an observer of ourselves as we interact with others and make more
aware choices. We experience what life is like when we align with
Divine Will and with our own Divine Life Purpose. Out of this
increased self-awareness, we can then choose purposefully to BE our
core essence of unconditional love and compassion more often. We can
then make choices and take action steps that absolutely serve
the highest good of all.

As
each human being makes the aware choice to BE their core essence of
unconditional love and compassion, joy infuses every moment of life
and unity consciousness becomes our new reality. That reality is a
rich tapestry woven with millions of unique strands from the core
essence of each individual soul on this planet, in this galaxy, and
throughout our universe. We return to our original Divine Human
Blueprint as Pure Love and we co-create the New World that we came
here to help birth. We can leave a legacy to emulate, a roadmap to
follow and room to expand our awareness beyond even our grandest
