Body Talk Techniques
I've discovered that the body is a
biological message machine, which our Wise Inner Self uses to store
messages it cannot get through to us in any other way; because we get
so caught up in being in the physical world, our Wise Inner Self hopes
that by drawing our attention to the physical body, we will stop to
take notice.
When there is pain, discomfort,
illness or dis-ease present, these serve as “message waiting” signals,
asking you to retrieve a message and explore its meaning. Once the
message has been retrieved, the pain, discomfort, illness or dis-ease
begins to subside or disappear almost immediately. The longer the
“message waiting” signal goes unanswered, the more numerous and/or
severe the signal will become until it is finally acknowledged and
retrieved.
Using simple processes and focusing
our attention, we can access the body to retrieve those messages, and
this information can then be used for healing, insight and spiritual
growth.
Asking your body for messages about
its dis-ease
Sit in a quiet place with pen and
paper close at hand. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths. As
you relax, allow your conscious mind to “scan” your body to see what
places are drawing your attention. As those places identify
themselves, allow your attention to be drawn to one of them. When your
attention is focused there, begin breathing as though this place were
your lungs – feel the breath move into and out of this place in your
body for a few breaths. This makes the connection between this part of
your body and your mind.
On an in-breath, ask this part of your
body, “What is your message for me?” The answer WILL come as you
breathe out – it may be a word or phrase; it may be a picture; it may
be a color or a sound; it may simply be a feeling of some sort.
As the answer comes, ask yourself what
meaning it has for you. Write this meaning down, allowing it to flow
without thought or censoring; when you’re finished writing, read what
you’ve written, and ask yourself, “Is there more to this?” If your
answer is “yes,” then continue writing without thought or censoring,
and when you’ve stopped writing, read it through to see if there is
more meaning that comes forth. Ask yourself, “Is there more to this?”
Continue this process for this body
part until the answer to your question, “Is there more to this?”
receives a “no.”
If there is more than one area of the
body drawing your attention from this scan, start this process again
from the beginning, identifying another body part, receiving its
messages, writing down the meaning, etc. until you’ve covered all the
areas of your body drawing your attention.
Asking your body for messages about
what it needs
As recommendations for or information
about treatments, supplements, medicines, exercises, etc. come into
your awareness, you can ask your body for its input. It is important
to ask about one thing at a time, so there can be no confusion as your
body answers.
Again, sit in a quiet place, close
your eyes and take several deep breaths until you feel relaxed. Move
your attention inward and ask your Body Elemental (the
essence/overseer of your physical body) to connect with you. Allow
yourself to easily know or sense that this is done.
As you make that connection, ask
silently, “Will this [treatment, supplement, medicine, exercise] be
effective to help my body to heal?” Stay focused on your question
until you receive your answer; remember it may come in a word, a
phrase, a picture, a sense, a smell, a color or a sound, or a
combination of these. The answer WILL come; be patient and stay
willing to receive it.
NOTE: if you feel more comfortable
using a pendulum or kinesiology, connect with your Higher Self and
Source
while holding the pendulum or before using kinesiology, and then ask
your questions.
Following
the answers your body gives is the next step! Doing this is simple,
but not always easy in the face of fear, popular opinion, authority
figures, etc. Remember, feel the fear or uncertainty and just do it anyway!
