Are You
Ready to Come Out of the Closet as a Psychic?
Do you suspect that you may be psychic and are too shy to say so
because your family or friends may think that you’re nuts, especially
if you have no way or method to validate it? Have you always had a
sense that you had a life mission of service to others to fulfill –
and do you suspect that by fully acknowledging and developing your
psychic gift you could launch yourself into that mission and service
and achieve life fulfillment?
If you doubt you have psychic gifts, but at the same time are torn
because of an inner knowing that there is something different about
how you perceive the world, you’re not alone - and welcome to the
club! In my case, it took several years to fully understand the way
that I perceive with my psychic abilities. I was fortunate to have
some powerful, perceptive and nurturing teachers who helped me
acknowledge and value the way my psychic perception works.
Through my own journey, and through the questions my clients pose
during sessions, I’ve been able to unleash my own psychic gift. I also
‘took notes’ along the way and as part of my own mission of service,
I’ve realized that it’s time to ‘pay it forward.’ I offer the
conceptual model that I use so that others who are on the same journey
can leap from doubting to duty…from inkling to incredible!
Misconceptions about Psychic Abilities
When I participated in my first spiritual retreat in 1988, I thought I
was not psychic or intuitive because I wasn’t seeing, hearing, or
feeling the ‘guides’ and meditations in the same way that others
around me were describing. I cried, I felt very sorry for myself, and
I experienced deep despair because I thought I would never have that
kind of ‘real’ experience.
What I learned from my retreat facilitator, however, was that there
are several ways to express our psychic abilities. This answer gave me
great hope. She said that the way I perceived was as needed and as
‘real’ as anyone else’s – and that everyone’s gifts were needed
in service to the changes in human consciousness taking place on
Earth. Her belief in me was the first step to believing in myself and
opening up my own gift to be of service.
I also began to suspect that there had to be a way of perceiving
psychic information that had not yet been spotlighted.
What does it mean to be ‘psychic’?
As we’re born into these amazing physical bodies, I believe that one
of our natural ways of perceiving is through our innate psychic gift.
Why do I use the word ‘innate’? When we’re little children it’s common
to have ‘imaginary friends’ and see things that ‘aren’t there’ - it’s
usually considered cute, it’s easy for most of us to do, and most
important of all, it’s fun. However, as we grow older, it is made
clear by our parents, teachers, and friends that these ‘perceptions’
are no longer acceptable. We learn to either not talk about what we
perceive or we ignore our perceptions out of fear that we’ll be
labeled as ‘odd’ and be shunned.
While research is still being conducted in the area of being
‘psychic,’ here is a conceptual model that has helped me understand
this gift. Let’s imagine that our DNA and some of the body’s glands and
organs serve another purpose besides only a physiological one; that
perhaps they
are also receptors of information outside our physical world to help us access our innate psychic gift.
These receptors are:
-
Hypothalamus
-
Pituitary
-
Pineal
-
Heart
-
Cellular DNA
The hypothalamus is the ‘inbox’ and receives information
packets in the form of an energy transmission from the Soul and
guides, who reside outside the physical, 3D reality we walk around in
every day. The pituitary is the gland that translates
these information packets into thoughts and words. The pineal
gland is where the information packets are translated into pictures,
and the heart is where they are translated into
feelings. Depending on the stage of development of your own unique
psychic gift, you may translate information packets in only one
psychic gland at a time or in all of them simultaneously. The
cellular DNA is where information packets from the Soul and
guides are directly translated into ‘knowing,’ and then interpreted
into pictures, words, and feelings through the other glands.
