Be One of the
Six!
As
October arrives with its beautifully colored autumn leaves, crisp days
and cold nights, I’m reminded that October is also Breast Cancer
Awareness Month. It was 2 years ago this month (October 2003) that I
was diagnosed with my own case of breast cancer, and I’m still clear
and healthy after foregoing chemotherapy and radiation. The natural
foods and healthier lifestyle I’ve adopted are serving me and my body
very well and I’m more focused than ever on living life fully and
fulfilling my part of the Divine Plan here on Earth.
In
my own cancer story (see link below) I speak of my dear friends, Kyle
and Mary, who were my medical angels and walked with me and my husband
through the arduous and often deeply disheartening process of getting
the facts about my allopathic treatment options after my lumpectomy.
Without their wisdom from years in collateral medical professions, I
beleive I would have spiraled into a deep despair that I’m not sure I
could have risen above.
Kyle and I were at dinner a few weeks ago, and we talked about her
experience of studying the statistics over the years pertaining to
women and breast cancer (she’s in the sonogram imaging industry). She
said that she’s been fascinated by the upward spiral in the numbers,
to the point that the latest statistics are showing 1 in 7 women will
get this dis-ease.
Her very wise ‘take’ on it is that our focus (attention) is being
placed in the wrong direction for us to be able to truly defeat this
dis-ease – the media, our doctors, our well-meaning friends and the
charitable organizations that do fundraising for research keep us in
fear that WE will be that 7th woman. The Universal Law of Attraction
states that “like attracts like,” so if we are focusing on being that
7th, what do you suppose we’re all co- creating together? Right! More
of the same and getting worse.
My
invitation through this message is that we put the Law of Attraction
to use to our advantage and claim wholeheartedly and with conviction.
“I’m one of the 6 who is cancer-free!” (Remember the phrase from the
movie, “Network,” that was, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going
to take this any more!”?) Well, let’s make the phrase, “I’m one of the
6 who is cancer-free!” be the rallying cry that we shout from the
rooftops, affirm in our daily conversations and continuously whisper
in our hearts .
Let that pin that you wear proudly on your lapel stand as your badge
of courage showing that you’re facing and defeating this dis-ease,
vibrantly healthy in spite of its appearance in your life experience.
Let it symbolize that you’ve now joined the ranks of cancer thrivers
and are taking the stand for your birthright of health in all ways.
Together, with our collective awareness and intentional focus, we can
gleefully watch those statistics rise to 1 in 50, then 1 in 100, then
1 in 1000, and then, as if by magic, no more breast cancer!
Please join me and let THRIVING be our focus as we attend fundraisers,
participate in walks for a cure, etc. by introducing all the people at
these events to the NEW mantra of, "I'm one of the six!"
By focusing our attention together, consciously and purposefully
choosing health versus dis-ease, this thing called breast cancer can
be a long-forgotten memory very, very soon! Thanks for listening!
